There had been talks of Tom Cruise starring on Spyglass Entertainment's thriller remake "The Tourist"
The premise of the movie is:
An American tourist is used by an Interpol agent in an attempt to flush out a criminal with whom she once had an affair.
Before Tom Cruise had made his decision to do the James Mangold comedy with Cameron Diaz, news were that he was attached to the upcoming film. Nevertheless, THR (The Hollywood Reporter) reports that Cruise has been replaced by Sam Worthington (the new "IT" Aussie Star from Terminator Salvation).
Filming is now scheduled to start in January, hoping for a 2010 release.
Sam Worthington will accompany Charlize Theron as the main characters.
The original French Thriller that this is a remake of was called ANTHONY ZIMMER and it first premiered in 2005. For the American version, the main roles will be switched, with Theron playing an Interpol agent who uses an American Tourist (Worthington)
