Plot: A post-apocalyptic tale, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind.
Production: In May 2007, Warner Bros. signed the Hughes brothers to direct The Book of Eli, based on a script by Gary Whitta. In September 2008, actor Denzel Washington was cast into the lead role. In the following October, Gary Oldman was cast to star alongside Washington. Filming began in February 2009 in New Mexico.
